Privacy Policy

DG Cortex ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you interact with our voice agent at our published phone number, use our mobile application, visit our website at dg-cortex.com, or use related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

Phone number: the number you call from when interacting with our voice agent, and the number you verify in the mobile app, used to deliver the texts you request or turn on.
Voice call audio and transcripts: recordings and machine transcripts of inbound calls to our voice agent. These are used to operate the service, document SMS consent, and improve speech recognition quality.
SMS opt-in records: a timestamped log of each time you consented to receive texts — verbally on a call, or by verifying your number and turning texts on in the app — including a reference to the corresponding call recording where consent was verbal.
Account information: name, email address, and password if you create an account in the mobile app.
Usage data: interactions with the Service, features accessed, and session duration.
Device information: device type, operating system, and app version.
Location data: if you grant location permissions in the mobile app, GPS coordinates to power location-aware features. Separately, the city from your saved profile or delivery address — which does not require location permission — is shared with our speech-recognition provider to more accurately recognize places you refer to by voice.
Contacts: if you grant contacts access in the mobile app, your contacts' names and phone numbers — used to reach the people you ask us to contact (text, call, schedule) and, as names, to help our speech-recognition provider more accurately recognize the people you refer to by voice.

2. SMS / Text Messaging Program

Program description. DG Cortex sends transactional texts only, each one requested or turned on by you: (a) a link to download the DG Cortex mobile app, sent to the number you called from when you verbally request it during a call with our voice agent; (b) the briefings and the results of tasks you asked for, when you turn texts on in the mobile app (Personalize › Preferences › How Cortex reaches you); (c) replies when you text Cortex at its number, when you turn on "Answer my texts"; and (d) texts you ask Cortex to send on your behalf to people you choose. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How we collect SMS consent. During the call, our voice agent reads the following disclosure aloud: "Would you like me to text you a link to download the DG Cortex app? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out." The SMS is sent only if you verbally say yes. The audio of your consent and a timestamped opt-in record are retained as proof of consent. In the mobile app, you consent by verifying your phone number and turning texts on; the disclosure shown there reads: "Cortex will text your daily briefing and results of things you asked for, up to a few texts a day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help." A timestamped opt-in record is kept for each in-app consent.

Message frequency. Depends on what you turn on: one text when you request a download link or ask Cortex to send a text, and up to a few texts a day while briefings and results are on. Texts stop when you switch them off in the app or reply STOP.

Carrier disclosure. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opt-out. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS. You may also switch texts off in the app under How Cortex reaches you, opt out verbally on any future call, or email privacy@dg-cortex.com.

3. How We Handle Your Mobile Information (SMS Opt-In Data)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who support our operations (for example, our SMS delivery provider) is permitted solely to deliver the messages you requested or turned on. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We use Twilio, Inc. as our SMS delivery provider. Twilio processes your phone number solely to deliver the messages you requested or turned on, on our behalf. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy.

4. How We Use Your Information

Operate, provide, and improve the voice agent and mobile app.
Send the texts you request or turn on: the app download link when you ask for it on a call, the briefings and results you switched on in the app, replies to texts you send Cortex, and the texts you ask Cortex to send on your behalf.
Maintain opt-in and opt-out records as required by telecommunications regulations and carrier requirements.
Respond to support requests.
Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience.
Comply with legal obligations.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone permitted to use it for their own purposes. Every recipient below is bound by contract to use your data only to provide the service described, to protect it to a standard at least equivalent to this policy, and to delete or return it when the service ends.

5.1 AI processing

Cortex is an AI assistant, so answering you necessarily involves sending your request to a language model.

Anthropic (Claude) — a third party. When you speak or type a request, we send that request — your voice recording, its transcript, and the recent conversation — to Anthropic so a response can be generated. If answering requires it, we also send the relevant content from accounts you have connected, such as email messages, calendar events, tasks, notes and documents. Anthropic processes this solely to return a response to us. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, content submitted through their API is not used to train their models.
TypeSafe — a third party. When Cortex controls your computer to carry out a task you asked for, each step sends TypeSafe what that step is meant to do, the app it is in, and the names and types of the controls on screen (read from the app’s accessibility information or from text recognised on screen). TypeSafe uses this only to choose which on-screen control Cortex should act on. Screenshots and the contents of fields are not sent.
Deepgram. Your speech is converted to text, and Cortex’s replies converted back to speech, by Deepgram. This is first-party processing, not a transfer to an outside company.

We ask for your agreement inside the app before any of this is sent, and nothing is transmitted to an AI service until you agree. You can withdraw your agreement at any time under Profile › Privacy; Cortex cannot answer your requests while it is withdrawn. Withdrawing does not recall content already sent.

5.2 Other service providers

Twilio — delivering and receiving the text messages and calls you exchange with Cortex.
OneSignal — delivering push notifications to your device.
Amazon Web Services — hosting the Service and storing your data.
Google — only where you have connected a Google account, to read the Gmail and Calendar data you authorised.
SerpAPI — retrieving public web and place results for searches you ask for. Your identity is not sent with these queries.
Heap — product analytics, which you can turn off under Profile › Privacy.

5.3 Other disclosures

Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of DG Cortex or its users.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. SMS opt-in records, opt-out records, and the underlying call recordings used to document consent are retained for a minimum of four (4) years to comply with carrier and regulatory requirements. Operational server logs that we use to keep the Service running and to diagnose problems may include limited request details and are kept for up to 30 days. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@dg-cortex.com; we will retain the minimum opt-in/opt-out evidence required by law even after account deletion.

7. Your Choices

SMS opt-out: reply STOP to any message we send, switch texts off in the app, or revoke consent verbally on a future call. One confirmation message will be sent and no further messages will follow.
Location permissions: you can disable location access in your device settings at any time.
Account deletion: contact privacy@dg-cortex.com to request deletion of your account and data.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately at privacy@dg-cortex.com.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Google Account Data

When you choose to connect your Google account in the mobile app, DG Cortex accesses your Gmail and Google Calendar. We use this access only to provide the features you have asked for:

Surface and summarize the email that matters to you.
Brief you on your upcoming schedule.
Carry out the actions you explicitly authorize — such as drafting a reply or adding an event.

We use your Google data only to provide these features. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers strictly necessary to operate these features on our behalf (see "Sharing of Information" above) or where required by law. We retain your Google data only as long as needed to provide these features and no longer than described in "Data Retention" above. You can disconnect your Google account and revoke DG Cortex's access at any time from the app's connection settings or from your Google Account permissions page, and you may request deletion of stored Google data by emailing privacy@dg-cortex.com.

DG Cortex's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
